When is Campit Open?
For the 2010 Season Campit will open every weekend beginning April 16. Beginning Memorial Day, Campit is open 7 days a week through September 25. We will return to weekends only from September 26 through the end of October.

How much does it cost to stay at Campit?
Accommodations at Campit vary in price and amenities! You can “rough it” in a tent or stay in a Resort Cabin with a fireplace, TV, kitchen, screen porch and your own private bath. Whatever kind of accommodations you choose you can make Campit as affordable as you like. Stay with us during the week and save 50% off the weekend rates! Are there fire pits or grills at each campsite?
Grills are only provided at the B&B and selected Cabins. Most campsites have a fire pit or fire ring or controlled and attended camp fires can be built on the ground. Firewood is available for purchase at the Campit Store and guests are encouraged to exercise safety and follow all rules when building fires in a natural environment such as Campit.

Do I have to buy a membership?
YES. Everyone who visits Campit – overnight or just for the day – needs to have a current membership. This is how we maintain the safe and private nature of our resort. There are four types of memberships available, one of which will suit you just right! To see what’s included with each membership type, navigate to the Membership page.

Does the B&B have a kitchen for guests to use?
Yes, guests staying in the B&B are welcome to use the common area kitchen facilities. These include refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, and outdoor gas grill. Please note that there is no stove in the Bed & Breakfast and guests are expected to clean up after using these facilities.

Is Campit clothing optional
No, Campit is not a clothing optional campground.

Is there a restaurant at the resort?
There is not a restaurant on the resort property, but the Campit Store sells a variety of sandwiches, microwavable foods, and pizza by the slice. Plus there are more than 40 restaurants within a 10 mile drive of Campit.

How many people can stay on one site?
You can choose to have up to four persons in two tents on a tent site - or you can have a tent site all to yourself. RV site pricing is based on two people but a third and fourth person can stay in your RV for an additional charge of $20/person/night. Most lodging accommodations including cabins, B&B rooms and rental trailers are for one or two persons.

Can I park my boat trailer (or other kind of towable trailers) at the resort?
Yes. Parking / Storage is available at $10 per week, or any part of a week.

How rustic is Campit?
Although Campit is an outdoor resort, there are indoor spaces such as our Rec Hall, Clubhouse and Game Room for inclement weather activities. There are full bathroom facilities with showers and flush toilets accessible to all areas of the resort.

What time is check-in? (or check out?)
Check in time is 3:00pm, and check out time is 1:00pm - If you plan to arrive earlier than 3 o’clock, please call us to ask if your site will be available at that time. If you’ll be arriving late (after 10:00pm), please call us before 6:00pm to make arrangements for late check in.

Can I bring my own firewood to Campit?
No. Because of a state wide quarantine, absolutely no firewood can be brought to Campit during 2010. All firewood must be purchased at Campit or be a pre-packaged and firewood product labeled as to its origin purchased at a local store. Please visit the link on our Home page to learn more about this statewide ban and why Campit must enforce this law.

Can I Bring my Pet?
Friendly pets are welcome at Campit, our tent sites, RV sites, Sleeper Cabins and the Rental Trailers with only a few restrictions. Pets and their people are expected to respect other members by observing quiet hours; remaining on leash at all times; cleaning up after themselves and never leaving the resort without each other. Pet are not allowed in the B&B or Resort Cabins where the resort provides linens. This rule is to protect our members with allergies. Pets are also not allowed in the pool or on the pool deck and cannot come inside the Campit Store. All pets have to register their owners at check in and are subject to a $30.00 cleaning fee if necessary when staying in the Sleeper Cabins or Rental Trailer.

Can I bring my kids?
Campit Outdoor Resort is a great place for any person over the age of 18, but minor children are not allowed.

Can friends visit me at Campit?
Your friends are welcome to visit you at Campit. They must first check in at the office and purchase a one day Trial Membership and Day Pass.

How far is the beach?
Lake Michigan’s beautiful sandy beaches are as near as 3.5 miles from Campit. Oval Beach (the nearest “gay beach”), is about 9 miles and is listed by Conde Nast as one of the top 25 beaches in the USA!

What else is there to do in the area?
There are great beaches, sand dunes, lakes, rivers, restaurants, bars, attractions, and shopping only minutes from Campit.
